I did a project / paper on Multitouch and Interactive Whiteboards (won that event too btw ;-) ) last semester (my 3rd semester). Its a really interesting field - especially cos its so cool to do something with your fingers on a computer display. Here are some pretty advanced versions of multitouch displays and their associated programs.
The 2nd one actually uses a foam board that you can press into.
