Now fans of the "Friday the 13th" series would know what I'm talking about. The films feature Jason Vorhees - an undead killer sort of character (wearing a hockey mask) who hacks everyone up brutally (especially teenagers looking to make out in the woods - screeeeeeeams please!) on Friday the 13th cos he got drowned in a lake while the teenage counselors who were suposed to look after him were busy .... doing something ;-).
Wikipedia even says that the fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskavedekatriaphobia, a word derived from the concatenation of the Greek words Paraskeví(meaning Friday), and dekatreís(meaning thirteen), attached to phobía (φοβία) (meaning fear).
"Friday the 13th" is also the name of the upcoming 2009 American horror film directed by Marcus Nispel, and written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. It is a reboot of the Friday the 13th film series, whose last film was the 2003 crossover film Freddy vs. Jason.
To sum up the spirit of the Friday the 13th films, here's an excerpt from an article on MTV.com about one of the movies based on the franchise:
"Freddy vs. Jason" (2003): Arriving at an outdoor rave in a cornfield where dozens of teenagers are drunk, stoned and/or having sex, Jason eyeballs his prey like a kid in a candy store. When one of the little punks sets him ablaze, a fiery Jason decides it's time to join the party — and begins slicing through the teens like a hot machete through butter. One lucky survivor sums up the attack thusly: "Dude, that goalie was pissed about something!"

Apart from this though, there's no real evidence (if you count a movie that gives you the creeps as "evidence" that is) of anything that rotten happening on Friday the 13th, except maybe the legend about the Knights Templar that the Da Vinci Code popularised.

Oh, and for those interested this year has THREE Friday the 13th's - one each in February, March and November 2009. So have scaaaaaaaary time this Friday people!!

There are lot of horror movies made but very little like Friday the 13th 2009 do you still remember the movie. Free movies is where I have read about the new remake. Still the revenge of mom continues as I saw, it will be entertaining movie yet again. Some have think it have left the interest but I don’t feel like that, for me it was still in a remaking position i really wont to see this movie

yes usually remakes of classics (especially horror movies) don't fare too well....
